She is 18, pregnant, unwed and lives down the road from our property on Ometepe Island, Lake Nicaragua. The young teenager who got her pregnant 6 months ago is a deacon’s son; both are members of the same Assemblies of God Church. I knew Maudaling since last year when we provided her with all her school supplies, uniforms etc…
Unfortunately the church hasn’t helped Maudaling much with her needs. The mother in law is in denial, won’t help her out and the new pastor hasn’t showed much mercy. I found out about it and wanted to help. The doctor said the baby was underweight so we started Maudaling on goat’s milk, peanut butter, baby formula, and daily vitamins. These are items I thought would help her gain weight. At the local store there is little to choose from.

The next doctors visit showed the baby and Maudaling gained almost too much weight!!! That’s better than to little right? We will continue to show God’s mercy to Maudaling and others as God enables us.
I get so much satisfaction from helping those in dire need on Ometepe. There is very little aid for the poor on the island that makes our ministry an important blessing to the local community. God has so blessed us that me can’t keep it to ourselves but must pass that blessing on.

NEW Update!

I must have heard wrong about the due date for Maudaling cause she just birthed a 10 lb. girl, born in her house Monday the 2nd of June and the baby is doing great!!!!!

I took a couple and their 2 cute girls to visit Maudaling and gave her food and baby stuff. Maudaling was so impressed and blessed by our visit she then named her baby girl Susie, after our friend from Michigan!

This couple.Mike and Susie, from a Michigan Vineyard Church has decided to buy a 2 acre lot next to our piece and develop it for ministry too. That's great news as we want friends to buy up all the lots around us for future ministry and keep the pig farmers from moving in as well as a Disco.(terribly noisy on the island)
