We wanted to intoduce a local island girl who 5 years ago came up to me and asked for help to attend college in Managua. Jiselda lives just down the road from us and had heard we have a ´´mercy ministries´´ part of what we do on Ometepe which is helping locals with building materials, medical needs, food and clothing etc. This was the fist time we had been asked to help in this manner. I hate to say no right off the bat so I told Jeselda let me ask around.

God moves in misterious ways as when I checked my email. A letter was waiting from a Dad who's son had been part of a youth team we hosted. He asked if there was anyway he could say "Thank You" to us for a great trip his son experienced, as he was off to college. I told him we did have a local girl asking for help to attend college and maybe he would be interested in helping financially. Jayme told me to find out what it would cost, so I did. Two months later we had all the funding we needed to send Jiselda to college at $300 a month! God is good, amen?
These two photos are of Jiselda and I at her graduation in Managua with a major in Business Administration and she worked so hard to receive this diploma.
She is now working on a second certificate in Computers this year. We are so proud of her as it was an investment in her that paid off. Jiselda is motivated and had the drive to fulfil her dream. We like to help that sort of person when we can. This was a God thing as He provided the last two years when promised funding dried up unexpectedly.Out of our own ministry funds came $400 a month as costs went up. I can testify that God is faithful and knows all our needs as we did not suffer during this two year crunch of funding.
Jiselda will finish up her schooling this year and be ready to teach computers at our Vocational school and admisistrate it as well. When we get internet at the property for us and the school Jiselda wants to start a Internet cafe during off hours of classes. She is a go getter and a fine Christian women.
Our thanks go out to you who have ´´stood in the gap´´ for us in prayer and through your generous giving.
Bless you all,........
