February Campaign 2002
Hello again to you who are reading this February Campaign newsletter.
I have some photos to show you of the great time of ministry we shared together with our Costa Rican team, "Arco Iris" (Rainbow), over on Ometepe Island, Lake Nicaragua in early February.

Trucks hauled locals from all over the island during the three days of the campaign. |
The "Jesus" film was shown at night during
the campaign.

My good friend Clark Farley had the mammoth task of organizing it and brought down 47 American doctors, nurses, dentists & regular folks, all wanting to experience a short term mission trip. The campaign blessed all our socks off as we worked together with 36 pastors from the island. Clark will be doing this again next year in January so sign up early if you want a meaningful trip you will never forget!

I have included a letter by my friends Irma & Henry Rodriguez from Ometepe Island. He is a pastor on the island and together they direct the orphanage with which we work. They wrote a moving letter about the success of that campaign which says it all…
Dear Clark & Tom,
The campaign was something remarkable! In the first place, it was a challenge for us to bring unity to the pastor's group and motivate them in a way that they would want to be involved in the work. In other words, making this event something that belonged to them.
Also, successfully bringing together 500 people with a big number of non-Christians was not easy. All these factors really made us worry. It was a big responsibility not to mention wanting everything to come out perfectly. The results were unbelievable. Seeing the amount of people who were blessed with campaign T-shirts, Bibles, medicines, medical care and clothing. This only mentions the physical part.
As to the Spiritual part, watching the children glorify God with banners and ribbons and so well dressed, was encouraging and left us full of hope. Seeing the Holy Spirit working in the brothers and sisters and saving people was the most wonderful scene we could dream.
This event brought in a large number of newcomers to the fellowship of pastors on the island. Before there was a group of 12 or 15 pastors that used to come to the meetings each month. Now in the last meeting there were 36. Glory to God!
The people in the community talk positively about the event. All the merchants say that they sold almost everything that they had during the campaign. They think that this kind of event should be take place more often. Also they commented that never had an event drawn such a crowd, not a party, not a bullfight, not a political rally, as the "Campaña Para Jesús" did.
When we think about what we hoped for at the first planning meeting and remember the last day of the campaign when we had approximately 1,700 people, we're amazed at what we can accomplish with God.
We thank God, because with Him we could do anything, and thanks to you because you let God use you to bring such a revival to Ometepe.
In Jesus Love,
Henry and Irma Rodríguez
God bless you all,...........
Love ya,...........Tom and Esther Fritz
