New April 2009
Hello to all our friends and family .
We have had many visitors in April. Two of them overlapped. Rick Polson, with the white hair, came over for a short visit from Costa Rica, as they are missionaries there. His wife Sandy, Esther's best friend, also came along with their 14 year old daughter Zoe, one of Gaby's closest friends. Dietrich Gage is an elder in our home church, GVCC of San Jose, Califorina. |

Rick and Di both worked together with Jeselda, our computer class teacher, to get the 10 laptops up and working. This was not easy and led to many long hours burning the candle at both ends. With more help from Jeselda's friend Jimmy, all laptops are now in spanish and networked together, ready for classes. Praise God as this was no easy feat! |

We want to thank all of you who gave new and used laptops to make this computer classroom possible and remember we can always use more laptops as they are sooooooooooo easy for visitors to bring down. Contact us if you or someone you know will donate one for our school. Let's back up a bit as I have to explain something special that took place,.......... This trip had an unexpected twist for Dietrich. Seems Di would also overlap the first 2 days with a visit by a member of a supporting Baptist church in San Jose, Califirnia. Unknown to them or myself, it seems God does have a sense of humor. You see Dietrich and Romulo have known each other for years as Di was his boss at Applied Materials! They lost touch with each other till God arranged this trip whereby they would be united again, unknowingly. I wish you could have seen their faces when they met up again, here on Ometepe of all places! Romulo took back home many good memories, photos and video as well as an encouraging report. We are hoping that later in the year a team will be coming here from Alpha and Omega Baptist Church!

After a few days of hard work Di and Rick were ready for some fun, as in ocean fishing. At the last minute we booked a hotel room and a powerful ocean fishing boat in San Juan de Sur even through it was the busiest season of the year, Easter. God provided again! As you can see even Tommy caught 4 fish and we had a blast. Our hotel prepared some of our catch for dinner, ummmmmmmmmmmm good!

Thank you Di, Rick, Jimmy and Jeselda for helping us ready the computers. Now we are waiting for the final painting and security measures in place before we can begin classes. Projected start date is in May, PTL!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
